Kroe: After the rain comes sun, after the sun comes rain again (Smoke City)

And here's the interesting part: I love the rain.

I picked this song, not because it reflects the phase I'm at in my life right now (God forbid!!! I'm enjoying myself too much), but because I've always loved this song, I love-love-love the Brazilian Portuguese blending with the English lyrics (Portuguese and Russian have always featured my childhood to-do-list, as a matter of fact), and you know, it just reminds of my teens, back when this was a new song. (If you don't know where you know it from... I think we all got to know the song from a jeans commercial back in the nineties).

Which brings me to what I actually wanted to share with you today. I've been doing well, even though my comunicating efforts have not been up to par, recently. The key to my well-being has been that I've been rediscovering myself, the things I liked, the things I loved, way back when.

Actually, the most important reason for my not writing has been that, with so many exciting things claiming my interest/attention/temporary absorption, there's hardly any time or energy left to write to you lot (though my diaries -yes that's a plural- are with me at all times; I am, after all, a writing creature)

Instead of telling you what I've been up to in full detail, here's a top three of the coolest things I've done, the past few weeks:
1. I've contacted D.M.Thomas, and he's been so kind as to write back immediately. I've told him about my dissertation and everything, and he welcomes any questions I might have. Totally smitten, obviously - on a platonic level, of course :-D
2. Running, then walking, doing handstands and cartwheels even (believe me, it's been a long, long time since I've done that) in a mesmerising park in Heverlee, Leuven; breathing in the autumn scents, taking in the explosion of colours, meeting other people's puzzled gazes with the most elated of grins.
3. Discovering the ideas of Carl Gustav Jung. Again, totally smitten. I mean, the man's brilliant! His thoughts on the individual, the religious experience, his sincere, yet critical open-mindedness regarding different cultures, his critique of all of the western world (communist and capitalist), his critique of science & statistics as far as the study of man and men goes. My admiration is complete. (This is not to say that I don't like Freud, but this Jung fellow is just... *swoons*) - this item goes to show that I have NOT been procrastinating- not even after I promised DMT to mail him my dissertation if ad when it is finished! *does a mental cartwheel, as her limbs are little too sore from the last time around, to attempt the real thing here in my living room, of all places*

Cheers

Axxx

P.S. Seems like Kylie's been doing some rediscovering of her own. Reminds me of Goldfrapp, which is a compliment I never thought I'd pay Her Tininess.
