The deed is done: the apartment's empty, I'll be back in Ghent on Tuesday, to hand over the keys and -don't look now - my dissertation. I will also go and see whether I can get a job here in Ghent asap.
Whenever I try to imagine the future beyond Tuesday/Wednesday (the official deadline for my diss.) ... my mind fails me. The move and the dissertation, that is all there is, right now. It's as if I'm diving towards the deep end, I know that I've got enough oxygen in my lungs to make it to the other side, but the underwater transition is unreal and nauseating, nonetheless.
When will I be back on the internet? Well, we couldn't arrange for the Telenet (Belgian internet provider) guys to come any sooner than 21 st August, so that will have to do.
In the meantime, we'll stay in touch by means of texting, phoning, and writing letters. Promise!
Love, love, love

Hello Strangers
I know my motivation to post on this blog, hasn't really been up to parr, but here I am.
Part of my didn't want to post because I had no good, you tube, lyrics, ... to share with the world. I am currently in my Fergie stage, hence no thought provoking lyrics. and I make no excuses even if she dresses like a slut, her tunes are catchy and I might even have seen one or two videos were she is not wearing tiny tops and skirts.
Anyway the reason for posting is to share with you these you tube video's
1. Shrek meats the Haka.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXOhWcT6P1g
2. Thing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cDSoAM8AbE
Ohh aren't they so cute and that song. If anybody knows where I can find to original song, you will be eternally ( well for at least the next month, possible 2 anyway) in my gratitude.
Cheers
Kissy
p.s. Happy home decorating Kroe!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Kroe: Goodbye my Lover (J. soddin' Blunt)
Not to worry, the title does NOT refer to my relationship with D!!!!
It is a popular sentiment, and one which I embrace fully: hating James Blunt. So why, oh, why do I refer to a bloody annoying song of his, in effect admitting him to the list of overall awesomeness that is Queen, Mika, and The White Stripes, that have featured my recent titles? Because sometimes, what you want to express most of all is... annoyance. And I thank Mr. Bland for giving me such a formidable medium to do this.
Now that we've established my level of annoyance, I can talk a little bit about the causes of said sentiment.
We're moving tomorrow, which is obviously a good thing - the sooner, the better. But I feel, this waiting for the actual move has proven such a waste of time. I wasn't in a position to continue my writing, as I had left some very important things in Jellytown, and the dissertation-related goals I had set myself in the meantime... were not met. Like my packing and tidying goals this week, they have been utterly neglected in favour of random internet surfing. Ah, those procrastiating demons of old!
The interesting part is, that I am not so much disappointed at myself as I am annoyed. The predominating sentiment in all of this, is just bored annoyance at the knowledge that I've let the effect of this stupid flat (or, the habits I've nurtured throughout my stay here) get the better of me.
It's downright amazing how confident I am that things will pick up once I'm in Z again. I just know they will. Lord knows I have quizzed myself over the past few months over and over on whether I feel ready/willing to move on, and the closer to the point-of-now return I've got, the louder the voices in my head get, that go: Yes, yes, please!!!!
More than this apartmant, which has been a home to us and our little Ninacat, I'm utterly, utterly fed up wih the lazy-ass, mind-numbingly passive person I've progressively let loose in this environment. Hence, I suppose, the Blunt-dedication to myself.
I know it's a bit of a nuisance that we won't be able to contact each other as often as we're used to for a little while, but I will make sure that I get on the internet one to two times a week, until we get ourselves a lovely, little internet connection of our own.
Jellytown, here we come!!!
Let the amazing Larry Lurex redeem my above musical reference, for I can hear music!!!

Kroe: a whole lotta woman needs a whole lot more!!!
Back in Ghent, sick and tired of this mess of a Ninaless flat, I want my post-student life to start now!
Which means... I enjoyed the peace and quiet in Jellytown, I'm rather taken with my most recent dissertation-related efforts and I am actually looking forward to the next couple of days when the actual move takes place.
As for my communicating requirements: not to worry, I'm sure we'll get some internet account sooner rather than later, so I suspect my silence will be short-lived ;-)
Before I go, there are two things I need to address:
1. I love Federer
2. the title to this blog-entry was taken from the ever-glorious Mika. I've got a sneaky suspicion he's "as gay as a daffodil" in a Mr. Mercury sort of way, so any of his comments could stand to be taken with a grain of salt... Still, it's a great & inspiring song... for the anorexically-inclined, but not exclusively: http://youtube.com/watch?v=tcRiXOONqf0
Peace!!!!

Kroe: going off-line
A practial message from one squirrel to her set of favourite squirrels:
I'll be off-line for the next couple of days. Sports fanatics may know this, but the Tour de France stops by Ghent on Monday, which means that getting out of and into the city will be no easy task. This is why we'll be away to our new house/flat in Jellytown (ok, I'll explain that some other time, for now let this nod to Maria suffice) until Tuesday.
Till then, I suspect no emails will be answered or composed by this squirrel...
Peace, and keep collecting those acorns!!!

Kroe... Does this mean I won't get to watch the men's final??? Guess again, I've found a sports bar, smack in he middle of Jellytown, so, not to worry, my sports viewing requirements will be fulfilled.
